We are looking for a HVAC Tech with Furnace and AC experience.
OBJECTIVE: To Install and perform CTS on residential HVAC equipment while maintaining customer satisfaction. Look for and generate cross departmental opportunities while maintaining 100% customer satisfaction. Help train and develop your technicians in the HVAC Install field. Help in the enforcement of company policies in the field and help with information gathering.
Reports to: HVAC Install Manager
Supervises: HVAC Install Helpers
The essential function of the HVAC Lead Install Technician is to provide HVAC installation , CTS, minor trouble shooting and help in the training of new technicians and enforcement of company policies and standards. This position handles new installations to customers in their homes and utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in explanation/operation of new equipment and finance options for additional opportunities.This position will also handle phone calls from other install teams to get everyone done daily in a timely manner. These essential functions can be broken down into sub categories as follows:
Knowledge:
Mechanical- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Engineering and Technology- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and science of technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and design capability of equipment used in the HVAC Residential and Light Commercial industry.
Design- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
English Language- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English Language including the meaning, spelling of words and grammar .
Nexstar Service System- Technician must master all 6 steps of the Nexstar Service System and be able to train an individual on these steps.
Technical Skills:
Troubleshooting- Determining causes of operating errors on new installations. If problem cannot be found must call for service tech.
Equipment CTS- Must be able to perform a full CTS on all equipment being installed, including but not limited to, setting proper gas pressure, proper air flow, calculating proper air flow, setting dip switches, check amp draw, prove all drains, check for gas/refrigerant leaks, read a micron gauge.
Installation- Installation of 80%/90% gas, oil, propane and electric furnaces of all makes. Installation of all air conditioning, heat pump and mini split systems. Installation of zoning systems and roof top units. Installation of all manufactured type humidifiers, air cleaners, UV lamps and thermostats.
Sheet Metal- Lay out and fabrication of standard sheet metal fittings and duct board fittings.
Trainer- Must be able to train a fellow technician on any policy or standard as set forth by the company.
Personal Skills:
Nexstar Service System- Must have complete knowledge of the Nexstar service system. Must have attended Nexstar Service System boot camp training course.
Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking time to confirm understanding. Ask questions that are appropriate and do not interrupt.
Customer Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards and evaluation of customer satisfaction (Trane Comfort Survey).
Communication- Must process un-matched communication skills for helping in the role out or implementation of company standards or procedures.
Qualifications:
Must have general knowledge of HVAC state codes and be able to apply them in a practical manner on each job. Must be able to work with local inspectors, suppliers and co-worker technicians to ensure quoted work is correct and completed in a professional and state code abiding way.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
A minimum of three year experience including hands on training and or work is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
EPA Certification level 2
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with no more then 4 points. NATE Certification
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. 3
years of experience as an HVAC Tech with both furnace and AC.
2. Some supervisory experience preferred.
3. Located in the general area or able to make a short easy move.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
