Job Description
PCC Airfoils, LLC, headquartered in Greater Cleveland, Ohio, is a world leader in the fast-paced, high-tech industry of investment casting. Each of the sixteen (16) Airfoils' locations play an integral part in the manufacture of blades, vanes and components for use in gas turbine engines. The Airfoils Division is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp. and was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in February 2016. The Ceramics Group segment of PCC Airfoils and consists of three manufacturing locations - Wickliffe, Ohio, which also serves as Ceramics headquarters, Cleveland, Ohio, and Sanford, NC. The Ceramics Group operations supply ceramic cores and proprietary custom blended ceramic particulate systems used in the manufacturing of the investment castings. Products and systems manufactured in these operations include: custom blended ceramic shell systems, injection molded silica and alumina cores for investment cast airfoils, slurry cast cores for land-based turbine casting applications and ceramic extrusions. The operations are expanding due to sales volume increase and this provides unique opportunities for career growth and development:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of visual and dimensional inspections.
Ensure effective containment activities (hold, sort, scrap, etc.) are implemented to prevent internal excursions or escapes to the customer
Help develop and implement system improvements and identify root cause of process control or inspection failures
Conduct internal audits
Ensure that plant process controls and in process inspections deemed necessary or critical to quality are sufficiently defined, communicated to responsible personnel, and audited on a continuous basis
Work with engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel to ensure proper performance of certified operations.
Monitor, communicate, and act upon performance metrics for certified operators.
Ensure conformance of the quality system to the latest revision of AS9100 requirements
Ensure projects directed by the Quality Manager and Quality Engineering Leads are completed as directed
Communicate with customers regarding potential quality escapes or quality issues
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Technical Discipline
Six Sigma Training
1-3 years Quality experience preferred. Experience which combines both customer contact and technical discipline will also be considered.
Knowledge of blueprints and airfoil specifications a definite asset.
Excellent communicator and capable of interacting with different levels of the organization.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
